Question:
What is image personalisation?
Answer:
Text messages make up a significant part of our everyday life. We find texts on signs, buildings, vehicles, sports equipment, products, clothing, birthday cakes and on so many more objects and in innumerable situations. When we photograph some of the above mentioned objects, we of course often find the text included in these photographs. In general, such texts in photographs are preserved for posterity the moment the shutter is released. It is virtually impossible to change the content thereafter. If at all, this requires a great deal of effort. Not so with image personalisation – a technology invented by AlphaPicture way back in 2002. Thanks to an ingenious combination of image processing and programming techniques, photographs and the textual content therein can be reworked and modified any number of times desired. All at once, you yourself can decide, for instance, what should appear on a flight display board, what you want to call your yacht or how you want to name a subway station. You can send photographs with YOUR favourite text written in the sand of your dream beach or on the icing of your favourite cake. At myAlphaPicture, you can choose from over 1,000 classy motifs to display your words. Send these amazingly true-to-life photos to your friends and enjoy imagining their stunned expressions when they see their name appearing in the most unexpected places!

Question:
Can I get my personalised images in a higher resolution?
Antwort:
Yes. From September 2018 on, we will be offering our users the option of purchasing personalised images in a higher resolution and without a watermark for a fee.

Question:
Can I personalise my own photographs?
Antwort:
No. At myAlphaPicture, you can only personalise images from our stock. If, however, you have a collection of your own photographs which you believe could interest the public at large and would be suited for image personalisation, you are welcome to send it to us. We shall view these photographs and, if we like them, we shall purchase them from you and include them in our stock.

Question:
Some characters that I enter do not appear on the monitor. Why?
Answer:
AlphaPicture motifs and the fonts used therein have character sets of different sizes. While some motifs only support Latin (Western European) characters, others can also display Eastern European, Cyrillic or Greek characters. Some motifs, on the other hand, only use uppercase letters. Note: At myAlphaPicture, the system automatically checks your text entries in real time to confirm whether each character is available and supported by the relevant motif. If a particular character is not supported, an initial attempt is made to replace it with a practical alternative. For instance, uppercase letters are used if no lowercase letters are available, “ss” is used instead of the character “ß”, “ae” is used instead of the character “ä”, and so on. If no practical alternative is available, the character is suppressed and does not appear on the monitor when it is typed in.

Question:
A few years ago, there was a similar service called LetterJames. Are you connected with this service?
Answer:
Yes. LetterJames was based on AlphaPicture’s image personalisation concept. In its later stage, the service was no longer provided directly by AlphaPicture and was discontinued by the operator in 2012. myAlphaPicture aims to continue where LetterJames left off and build on its success by introducing a wider selection of motifs, improved usability and several more offers.
